CIC Operational Bulletins: Instructions on Changes to Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, Investor Class Applications
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 These Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) operational bulletins are about the changes to federal skilled worker and Canadian Experience Class applications that took effect on June 26, 2010, and the administrative pause on investor class applications. ChangesAs of June 26, 2010, to be eligible to apply as a skilled worker, you must either have a job offer, or you must have experience in one of 29 "in-demand occupations." In addition, CIC will limit the number of skilled worker applications considered per year. Applicants to the Canadian Experience Class must now submit results of an independent language test. CIC has also proposed changes to the eligibility criteria for the immigrant investor program. The proposed changes would require immigrant investors to have a personal net worth of C$1.6 million, and invest C$800,000.
