Instructions
a) Brainstorming Activity
Record the participants' responses to the following questions on flipcharts:
- What kinds of jobs, skilled and unskilled, are related
to the automotive service technician trade?
- What kind of information do you want to find out about
the occupations you have listed? Potential jobs
include:
Unskilled
- Service Station Attendant
Voluntary Trades
- Automotive Machinist
- Automotive Painter
Skilled Trades
- Parts Clerk, Storekeeper
- Automotive Partsman
- Industrial Engine and Equipment Parts
Compulsory Trades
- Alignment and Brakes Technician
- Fuel and Electrical Systems Technician
- Transmission Technician
Divide the participants into small groups of three or four.
Assign one or more occupation to each group.
Distribute Handout 10 to each group.
Have each group present their findings on the occupation(s)
assigned to them to the whole group.
